Omar Bereche is a member of the art collective “Los Manchas,” which also includes the artists Ray Medina, Marco Morocho, and Cristhian Godoy. He obtained the second place in the 59th edition of the Salón de Julio in 2018.
Omar Bereche is an independent visual artist born in Ecuador, where he currently resides and works. He began his art studies at the Instituto Tecnológico de Artes del Ecuador (ITAE, 2014) and continued them at the Universidad de las Artes del Ecuador (2020), obtaining a degree in Visual Arts with a focus on painting.
In 2018, he obtained second place in the 59th edition of the Salón de Julio, laying the groundwork for his first individual exhibition project, “Metonimia” (2019). He has since participated in various group exhibitions such as “Ají” (2019) at DPM Gallery, “Área 51” (2019), and “Autre” (2021) at Taller Maldonado Gallery, among others.
He presented his third individual exhibition, “Post Animal: La teoría de los lejanos,” at the Galería Museomático/In Arte contemporáneo (Cuenca, 2023), with a curatorial text by Gabriela Moyano.
